We believe in open communication as the first step toward resolving any professional differences. Before taking formal action, parties should attempt to settle disputes through a constructive dialogue with the agent or the firm's Principal Broker.
Ethics complaints
If a resolution cannot be reached internally, formal inquiries and ethics complaints are managed by the Statewide Professional Standards Program. To begin this process, please contact the South Carolina REALTORS® legal team at 1-803-772-5206
Ethics complaint charges that a REALTOR® has violated an Article(s) of the Code of Ethics.
License complaints
The South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation, through its Office of Investigations and Enforcement (OIE), investigates complaints involving licensed professionals to determine if the facts, as alleged, could be a possible violation of the state law regulating the profession or occupation. OIE also investigates allegations of unlicensed practice.
